Things

Don’t worry about me, I don’t want to see your face
I’ve need buy my things and keep up in this raceThey keep me company and I tell them rhymes
They buzz and swirl like many clocks with chimes

I work hard for them, they sit in my house
I show them off to friends, jealousy is roused
I really don’t need them, maybe I’ll see this in time
Or will I keep them forever, and call the world mine

Shiny is good, if it ticks that’s great
The only thing I care about is what battery does it take?
Who needs other people when I have my toys
At least they don’t complain to me like little girls and boys.
